Every year lakhs of aspirants appear for the national and state-level engineering entrance exams to get admission to B.Tech/ B.E./ B.Arch courses and other related courses.
JEE Main is one of India’s most popular engineering entrance exams conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). The exam serves as a stepping stone to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. JEE Main also serves as a prerequisite qualifying exam for the JEE Advanced exam, which is required for admission to IITs.
As per the data released by NTA, a total of 9,39,008 candidates appeared in all four sessions of JEE Main examination 2021, out of which 44 candidates have obtained 100 percentile and 18 candidates share the top All India Rank- 1 (AIR).

National Level Engineering Entrance Exams After 12th:
1. JEE Main:
As mentioned above, this is the frontrunner national-level engineering entrance exam after 12th for aspirants in India to get admissions in NITs, IIITs, and CFITs, and it also serves as the prerequisite qualifying exam for JEE Advanced.

2. JEE Advanced:
The advanced stage of JEE examination, JEE Advanced, is held once a year by the seven zonal IITs under the leadership of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The exam results are used to determine admission to B.Tech programs at IITs and ISM Dhanbad. Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main rank holders will be eligible to compete in JEE Advanced.

3. BITSAT:
The University-level engineering entrance exam, BITSAT is conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) for admissions in the engineering degree courses at all three BITS campuses (Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad). Every year, over 2 lakhs of students apply for this exam, making it a highly competitive one.

4. VITEEE:
The University-level engineering entrance exam, VITEEE is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology for admission to its various B. Tech Degree programs. More than 2 lakhs of candidates appear for this exam every year, making it a highly competitive one.

5. COMED-K:
The state-level, Undergraduate Entrance Test conducted by the Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka to determine the merit of students seeking admission to undergraduate programs at the member institutes of the Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation (KPCF). The entrance exam is held in a number of locations across India and approximately 20,000 B. Tech seats are available in around 180+ engineering institutes associated with COMEDK UGET.

6. MET:
The university-level annual entrance test conducted by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (formerly Manipal University) across India to select students for admission to Manipal Institute of Technology’s Engineering courses. Every year over 50,000 applicants appear for the exam.

7. SRMJEEE:
The university-level engineering entrance exam conducted by the SRM Institute of Science and Technology for admissions in B. Tech programs offered by the institute’s campuses in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, and Ghaziabad. Approximately over 1 lakh candidates compete for the available 7,000 undergraduate engineering seats every year. The top 1000 IIT-JEE rank holders and the top rank holders of central and state board examinations are offered direct admission.

8. IPU-CET (B. Tech):
The university-level engineering entrance test conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGS IPU), commonly known as I.P. University for admission in various undergraduate programs in engineering, technology, management studies, nursing, medicine, teaching, pharmacy, law, and several other fields. However, from session 2021-22 admissions will be based on JEE Main scores and rank except for the B.Tech Biotechnology program.
