JEE Main 2024 Exam Pattern:

JEE Main is conducted in two papers:

Paper 1: This paper is for admission to B.E./B.Tech courses and is conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. It includes multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each subject carries equal weightage.

Paper 2: Paper 2 is for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses. It consists of three parts: Mathematics (Part I), Aptitude Test (Part II), and Drawing Test (Part III). Part III is conducted in a pen-and-paper mode.

Duration of Exam:

For Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): The duration of Paper 1 is 3 hours (180 minutes).

For Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning): The duration of Paper 2 is 3 hours (180 minutes).

JEE Main 2024 Marking Scheme:

Each correct answer in Paper 1 is awarded four marks.
One mark is deducted for each incorrect answer in Paper 1 (negative marking).
There is no negative marking in the Drawing Test of Paper 2.

Language of Question Paper:

The question paper is available in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and Odia. Candidates can choose their preferred language during the registration process.

Mode of Examination:

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) is conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning) is conducted in a pen-and-paper mode for the Drawing Test, while Mathematics and Aptitude Test are conducted in CBT mode.

Number of Questions:

In Paper 1, there are 75 questions in total, with 25 questions in each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).

In Paper 2, the number of questions varies in each part: Mathematics (Part I) has 20 questions, Aptitude Test (Part II) has 50 questions, and Drawing Test (Part III) involves sketching and drawing tasks.
