New Delhi, October 15, 2023 – The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially unveiled the merit list for the National Eligibility Entrance Test – Postgraduate (NEET PG) counseling 2023 stray vacancy round. This release, which occurred on Sunday, has brought crucial information for candidates who applied for the stray vacancy round.

Here are the key details:

NEET PG Stray Vacancy Registration Process Extension:

The registration process, initially scheduled to conclude on October 11, was extended by one day and finally closed on October 12.

Candidates who hadn’t secured a seat in the previous rounds of NEET PG 2023 counseling, whether conducted by MCC or through the state quota, were granted the opportunity to register for the stray vacancy round.

Choice Filling and Seat Allotment:

The choice filling and locking process for the stray vacancy round took place until October 13.

Following this, the seat allotment process occurred between October 13 and 14.

In an official notice issued by the MCC, it was explained that the delay in choice filling for the Stray Vacancy Round was due to some PG DNB Institutes not reporting their candidates online. Consequently, the competent authority decided to extend the schedule for the Stray Vacancy Round of PG Counseling 2023.

Zero Qualifying Percentile:

Before commencing the third round of counseling, the Ministry of Health took a significant step by reducing the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2023 counseling to ‘zero.’

This measure was implemented to ensure that no PG medical seat remained vacant, especially given that approximately 2,000 PG medical seats remained unoccupied this year.
